The purpose of this approach is to present information and lore about the world of Aiste that would not naturally fit into the narrative. I don’t like forcefully fitting this information in the story; the characters would never discuss topics that are obvious to them, or explain them in terms that make sense to us; gender is the best example, since they wouldn’t even know what gender is (see the entries in the book for more details). Additionally, I believe some people like to study the lore, but others just want to read the story and find lengthy explanations to be a boring distraction. Therefore, I try to avoid them (unless they really fit the story, eg. school), but still want to offer them to the people who enjoy that part of a fantasy world.
